This is our day

The Year 3 students are learning to say the time in English. To practice it, they have made a poster explaining how is one day in their lifes. Each student has been given a time, they have to draw the time in the clock, write it and make a drawing showing what they usually do at that time.

Have a look at the result:

Food Foodie

As part of a Maths project, the Year 4 tutor, Trini, has created "Food Foodie Grocery Store". The project aim is to help students practice substraction with decimals while they speak in English.

The students have to buy food items, and the interaction between seller and costumer has to be entirely  in English. The customer asks for things he/she wants to buy and the seller has to calculate the total price and the change if needed.

We've been playing a couple of times and we've had a great time.
Now, the Year 4 students are prepared to buy anything in an English shop :)

Quiet Critters

The "Quiet Critters" are here! These lovely creatures are very scared of noise, they love quiet children, so every time that a child is working in silence a Quiet Critter comes to their tables, but, be careful! if children start to speak while they are working the "Quiet Critter" will go away, so...Shhhh! BE QUIET!

Go Away, Big Green Monster

The Pre-Primary students, 3,4 and 5 years old, are revising the parts of the face vocabulary. To do so, we are using the book "Go Away Big Green Monster":

After reading it together we play with the story props. I say a part of the face and the children put them in the right place, and after that they take out the part of the face that I tell them.

They love to see how the monster appears and disappears:

Go Away Big Green Monster, and don't come back until I say so!
