Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?

The 3, 4 and 5 years old students are working on the book "Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?". It's a fantastic book full of coloured animals: a brown bear, a red bird, a yellow duck, a blue horse, a green frog, a purple cat, a white dog, a black sheep and an orange fish, with which children can learn in a fun way animals and colours.

Here you can watch the 5 years old class retelling the story using stick puppets:

In the Ocean

The Year 6 students are now reading the book "In the Ocean":

It is a very interesting book, with lots of sea creatures, some of them known and others that are unknown, even for me, such as the "Dugong".

Do you know what a Dugong is? Do you want to learn more about them?

You can watch this video about the Dugong:

Sentence domino

The Year 4 students are learning about routines before going to bed.
To practice them they have been playing a broken sentence domino: with one half of a sentence in a part and one half of other sentence in the other part, they had to find the two parts to make a complete sentence such as "I read a book" or "I have a shower" among others.

Planting Potatoes

Today we have been planting potatoes in our vegetable garden. Pascual has explained the children how to make a groove to put in the potatoes and the children have planted some potatoes in it.

Now we only have to wait to see them grow :)

The Taste of Christmas

In October, the Year 4 and Year 5 students started an European project called "The taste of Christmas". There were 7 European countries in it: Italy, Greece, Turkey, Romania, Poland, UK and Spain.

We started the project making a video introducing  ourselves and our school. Then we made a contest to give a logo for the project, and I have to say that 2 of our logos were among the most voted :).

After that, we made Christmas cards to send to the other countries, and we received the cards made by our partners in the project. It was wery exciting to open the envelopes and see the cards made by the children of the other schools.

Another part of the project was to create an ebook about Spanish Christmas traditions. Every country did the same, and we learned a lot of different customs and traditions of Christmas around Europe.

We also recorded some Christmas carols to be send to the partner countries. We sang "Silent Night" in English and in Spanish, and "El noi de la mare", a traditional Valencian carol.

In the last part of the project we had to make Christmas comics and to follow up stories created by the other countries.

You can see the stories here:

We have enjoyed and learned a lot about Christmas around Europe, and the children have had the possibility to be in contact with children of other countries. A very positive and enriching experience to repeat
